I have a research project on nuclear power and I have to write how nuclear power is good for public safety. I can’t really find anything that’s for but rather against so I’m having some trouble with this =[ If you can, please try to give me good / analytic reasons as to why nuclar power is good for public safety =]
Thank you!

Safety, everyone’s largest concern, contributes to there only being a few nuclear reactors in the United States. The truth is nuclear power is one of the safest industries in the United States. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has surprise inspections. There are daily inspections by plant staff. (“White House Press: Expanding the safe use of Nuclear Power” np) Safety in nuclear power plans has improved greatly since the 80’s and has a lower death per gigawatt rating than coal.(“Weeks” 16) Plants have reported much less outage time. Since the 80’s injuries have declined greatly.
