What are some pretty good paying jobs related to public safety?

I really want to have a job in public safety like a firefighter or a sheriff or something like that, but none of them make hardly any money. Are there any jobs that make decent money?
While firefighting doesn’t look like it pays a whole lot annually, you need to look at it another way. Most departments work a 24 hour on 48 hours off. That equates to 120 shifts or days worked a year. That’s only four months out of 12 and you earn a decent salary for that amount of time. And with the 24 on 48 off, it leaves you time to work a second part-time job on your days off. So overall, its pretty good money for the time spent on duty. The only other public safety career that pays pretty good is a paramedic and they usually work shifts like the FDs do. Honestly, I believe law enforcement should be paid better than any of us in public safety due to the nature of their job.
